Well, all Of these things and more are occupations which Design Pickle has done for me. So, you could post and out a project for a graphic designer every time you have a design job that is little to do.
Or you could get it done in 1 place. Oh, and it is”unlimited” (more on this later) layouts for a flat monthly fee.
In this Design Pickle Review, I Plan to discuss what I like, what I do not enjoy, and what I’ve learned over the last year as I’ve used Design Pickle for my own design requirements.
What’s DESIGN PICKLE?
If you haven’t discovered, Design Pickle is an all-in-one graphic design support for one monthly fee. You can acquire infinite graphic designs.
Alright, But what does”unlimited” really mean? On the design pickle website it states,”unlimited requests”,”unlimited revisions”,”unlimited brands”. All of those things are accurate. However, I want you to go in with a transparent understanding of what that means.
Sure, you may submit unlimited Requests and have unlimited brands, but it does not indicate that you will GET unlimited designs done each month. When I submit 1 million job requests in a month, then I shouldn’t expect to receive 1 million unique graphic design jobs done in a month for just $370. That is crazy talk.
The way it works is that you’ve got Essentially one designer. The exact same picture designer also works on a few different accounts (you aren’t the only customer they work with).
A Number of your tasks will Get finished faster or slower depending on how active they are. But what I have discovered is that I can usually expect 2 or 3 graphic design jobs to be finished daily.
This Depends upon the complexity. Simple jobs will get done, more complex jobs will take. Logo Contest Website
My experience with Design Pickle
I have been a client for over Submitted 1800 and 3 years + design asks.
When I subscribed, we Had a start but that was my fault.
I learned that the Layouts I got back were just like the design short they needed to operate with.
I wrote and knuckled down Out a template brief that contained as much information as you can.
This made it crazy quickly for Me to fill but still gave my designer enough info to work with.
And over the years, I have had Exactly the same dedicated designer, John (he’s amazing ). We have worked together for so long he knows exactly what type of images I am searching for.
You only have to scroll Through our blog archives to see lots of examples.
And based on examples I have Seen for other customers, Design Pickle is capable of a whole lot more!
7 things I seriously love about Design Pickle
Dedicated designer — Working with one designer (unless they are on holiday) means they know what kind of pictures I like. Great for consistency. My devoted designer, John, is incredible.
No contracts — I will cancel my strategy anyhow. But I get so much value out of the service that I don’t think I’ll ever offset.
The service is rock solid — Design Pickle have been moving for a little while now. I have been a customer for over 3 years. The processes and support staff they have set up is outstanding. I have signed up for solutions from other suppliers that offer similar”unlimited” style offerings and one specifically just wasted my money because they didn’t have the kinks worked out in their own service. This is not true with Design Pickle — they know what they’re doing and they provide.
Tremendous number of design resources — Working for so many clients means access to design resources. This saves time for everyone and the upside to your client is much more high-quality imagery.
Choice of which document types you get delivered — You have to choose which file types have been delivered. If you’d like editable documents like PSD’s, AI documents, etc you can pick which you desire. You’ll also receive the”ready to use” type files such as PNG, JPG etc.. And you can specify which file types when submitting your request.
Unlimited jobs — I run a bunch of different sites, which list is simply going to increase. But that is not likely to be an issue
My branding assets are kept on file to save everybody time Whenever I launch a new website, I ship the branding resources (logo files, etc) to support and they get them stored. So I simply have to specify the job in the topic line of my email and they do the rest. How I use Design Pickle at the Moment
Since I am asked about my Images so much, I wanted to discuss a little more on how I use Design Pickle at the moment.
When a brand new blog article is Completed I’ll decide whether we need an in-content image any of the content. If it does, I’ll write up a brief and submit an application to Design Pickle through email.
I will talk about this Briefs in a moment, but it will normally include a detailed description of everything I want, required image dimensions and hyperlinks to picture examples for inspiration. Logo Contest Website
Then I have three templates For three different layout briefs:
Each pair of images Are focused around a single design concept, using”flat” styled images. They’re cartoony, but not 3D.
I request the image Delivered in several unique sizes:
700 x 300 pixels — This comes with a flat/cartoon-like picture overlayed on a background. The image dimensions are what I use for my featured picture in WordPress
1200 x 628 pixels — This image is the same as above. And is sized especially for when content is shared to networks like LinkedIn and Facebook. We utilize a plugin named Social Warfare for our discuss buttonsthat makes it possible for us to upload image sizes.
1080 x 1080 pixels — Here is the image we use for discussing on Instagram.
What’s Great about purchasing these different measurements is that I have an whole collection of images I can use for social networks that are popular and your own blog.
Extra Pinterest images
While pictures are For branding great, that they do not always perform as well on Pinterest.
I submit a request for Images that I’ll share to Pinterest. They will look completely different, although these be the 735 x 1102 size and will still have our logo on.
In my petition, I’ll send 3 Different names for the example and post images for inspiration.
This provides me the ability to Experiment with various layouts, and program hooks throughout the year for extra exposure. And because the lifespan of a pin is longer than any other kind of media content, the outcomes can be great.
Thorough Pinterest graphics
Pinterest is a traffic Powerhouse, therefore I’ve been working on upping my Pinterest game.
Infographics typically do Well but they may be expensive which makes tricky.
Here Is What I do instead:
I create a smooth and short Headline based on the article title. I look over the post to find some information that could be utilised in a picture.
Based on how big the Article, this could simply be a list of each of those suggestions in a single post or it could be that the sub-headings within a section of this blog post.
The great thing about these Kinds of pictures is they can encourage sharing more, and also add value for the reader. Logo Contest Website
Each of those brief’s Counts as one request. For each post I’m submitting 3+ asks, depending on how many in-content images we need.
And any — I won’t be needed by a few Like imagery to be purposeful as possible.
It’s also worth noting that We will occasionally use blog pictures to promote the post.
As Our Instagram strategy is built by me, I’ll be making changes to this frame. I’ll likely expand my design asks for each post to add quotes and suggestions from blog posts.
A few other ways I utilize Design Pickle
I mostly use Design Pickle But there are a couple other methods I leverage their services.
As an Example, I had a logo for 1 job that was not high enough resolution — they converted it and delivered a higher resolution image.
Then there is the editing of Images on the blog — especially infographics.
Outside of editing They produce a few graphics that I use when updating content .
In my article on SEO Tactics, I discuss the significance of going over old articles and updating them.
This can Help You to Get a nice Bulge of traffic — especially from search engines.
Most of the time folks Update the content only, but what can help push things further is imagery that is fresh. Notably vision that other individuals will want to reference in their articles (that means backlinks + more traffic for you).
Recently, I did a whole About how best to choose a market for your own blog rewrite. I wrote it years ago and it was in need of an upgrade.
To follow the rewrite Had Design Pickle create a pair of pictures that are featured in addition to some pictures that are in-content .
This comprised a custom picture To back up among those points in my article:
At the End of this post I added a list of niche thoughts. So instead of displaying this we exhibited the information as an image instead.
So I will not, it’s a image Include it , but it is at the bottom of this post in the event that you’d like to have a look.
These custom post Both Images are assets. This means they may be leveraged for link construction purposes! And used in social networking campaigns.
To get pictures it will require a subscription to Getty Images. This is handled by Design Pickle which means you just pay an additional $25/month. Well worth it, in my own opinion.
IS THE DESIGN PICKLE PRICE WORTH THE Price?
Should you Are like me, you truly want to know what the line is. Will you be spending less or more using Design Pickle? Can it make sense to simply hire a graphic designer to get jobs or utilize their services? Logo Contest Website
You Will Need to think through The calculation for your business because you may have more or less complex tasks you will typically request.
Here is my thought process:
To get a very site Header picture done, it would cost me anywhere from $10 to $100. Just people would spend over $50 though.
I believe $10 to $30 is a safe For how much a typical graphic designer would charge for blog header picture that is first guess. If you should hire a freelancer graphic designer to get a logo, it is possible to get something in the $30 to $50 range, and that’s considered very cheap.
A US based design firm Would cost more or $800. Sorry for throwing you under the bus US folks…
I guess I will get at least 2 A day, Tasks done. So, 2 jobs x 20 (and this may be on the low end) is $40 per day, or $1200 per month.
So, yes…my calculations show that In the event you utilize Design Pickle enough, it is definitely worth the price.
A COUPLE MORE BENEFITS OF DESIGN PICKLE
Another benefit is The ease of use. My programmer is becoming used to my style and so it’s SUPER fast to order jobs.
That Would be it. When I went to Upwork, I would need to explain the job in detail, wade through candidates, expect they understand my brand, etc.. It would be a more time consuming than just using Design Pickle.
I think it worth Mentioning that design pickle has access to stock images or other stock graphics that they can use. What this signifies is that you don’t need to pay for or provide any stock photos on your own.
For example, let’s say I wanted a Professional image with text layover of a happy couple sitting on a bench. I would tell them to add these words that are certain and to go find a stock picture of a happy couple sitting on a bench.
I really don’t pay for the stock photo, Design Pickle already has it.
DESIGN PICKLE EXAMPLES
As Previously Mentioned, I’ve been using Design Pickle currently for about a year. Throughout that time, I’ve had them create graphics for all my companies. I’d love to provide a few examples below.
I’ve used Design Pickle to make a couple logos for me. For instance, below is the symbol for my new AMZ Picture pluginthanks to Design Pickle.
Product Design and Graphics
I have used Design Pickle a number Of occasions to take my raw Amazon product images and make them look nice. This may be added graphics and descriptions to callout attributes. Or it may be to simply improve the photos in some way.
You can use Design Pickle to Do ebook covers, software boxes and more.
We utilize design pickle all the time To design nice looking Facebook advertisements for us. Logo Contest Website
Printables with Graphics
Yes, this Is for my Mother blog. The possibilities are endless with printables. If you can dream it up, then Design Pickle will help design it.
Blog Header Pictures
The professional services are used by me at Design Pickle all the time. This is a great way to spruce up a blog post to make it look professional, which subsequently helps readers stay around more. And we all know that time onsite can actually help your site rank better in Google. Does Design Pickle help your site rank better in Google?
PowerPoint or Google Slide Presentations
I’ve used their support to help Create my presentations look professional.
Revenue PDFs, Videos, and much more
I have used a ton of graphics in my Sales videos and PDFs. If you wanted to write an ebook and sell it online, you can boost the perceived value of the PDF publication by having Design Pickle undergo and make it look good for you.
I’ve done this a few times now.
I’ve also had Design Pickle perform a Few product layouts for me. Yep, product layouts that are physical. Basically, I’ll have the concept of the solution and they will whip up a prototype for me I can send to a manufacturer.
How to get the maximum from Design Pickle
The designs that are Delivered are just as good.
And to save you As possible, you should create a template for each type of image request you want to submit.
Here are some good things to Include in your brief:
A comprehensive description of what you will need
Links to examples for inspiration
your intended audience
Color’s to utilize, or not to use
Picture sizes (you can request multiple sizes if you prefer )
Any other notes you believe will help your designer
The more information you Include in your brief, the less likely you’ll need revisions. And that is a fantastic thing as your designer can be working on layouts instead of layouts.
I also recommend submitting requests in batches. This means is collecting up your requests and submitting them back to back.
Batching, Generally Speaking, is a Productivity to improve.
And even if I Didn’t graphics would work out expensive. However, the reality is they’ll still be much better price and better quality than if I were to get them from elsewhere.
Who’s Design Pickle for?
If Your blog reaches a place where it’s making money, and you’re taking a look at ways to scale — Design Pickle is a superb way to offload layout jobs.
This means you can claw back A number of your time on growing your business and invest it.
Ultimately, you need to be Able to justify the price tag, like with any purchase. But you have to have the ability to submit design asks for this to be worthwhile.
And I am getting requests Completed for under $10 each is since I fill up my layout queue — there is always something for my designer. And when my layout queue was just half full, it’d still be worthwhile. Logo Contest Website
I bootstrapped the launch of Until it was making more than sufficient cash to cover costs similar to 22, my blog and did all of the design work. It is purely a case of waiting until the time was appropriate for a service like this.
It’s also worth noting that if you can not convey what You have to have in an email, Design Pickle probably isn’t for you.
They don’t offer Logobranding and’s and for good reason — all these are solutions that are expensive. They’re able to do infographics because they are more time-intensive to make, however you will need to provide data/stats and provide them.
I counter Design Pickle Services with a lot of other services. For example, I hire a designer on Fiverr for my logos known as Obus — he’s outstanding.
And for infographics Because I can acquire content repurposed to a few formats at the same 18, sometimes use PeoplePerHour.
IS DESIGN PICKLE Appropriate for You?
The chances are much More than I could cover in this one blog post. For any project that you might be doing that could possibly need layout, you can use Design Pickle for this.
You Need to decide if Design Pickle is ideal for your company. Can you afford to spend $370 per month? Will using images on your business help boost brand value or your earnings by greater than the cost of the service.
The Solution is definitely yes. Logo Contest Website
